Le Tour de France swept through Huddersfield and Holmfirth and tackled the mighty Holme Moss yesterday, with crowds lining the route to cheer on the cyclists.

Many spectators cycled to the Holme Moss and Holmfirth viewpoints, and Le Tour will no doubt inspire others to get on their bikes and explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside themselves.

Organisers of the Grand Depart in Yorkshire ensured the route was safe for competitors and supporters alike - but cyclist safety is still an issue on British roads.

As amateur cyclists get inspired by the Grand Depart and hit the roads, Irwin Mitchell hopes to gauge how much we know about cycling safety.

Cycling fever is sure to hit in Huddersfield and beyond - but how much do bikers know about the rules of the road?

To find out, the personal injury firm has introduced the Great British Cycling Quiz to test what road users remember from their cycling proficiency test.

Eight questions in the interactive quiz test your knowledge of rules, regulations and traffic laws, and answers will be captured so that at the end of the Tour on July 27th, the British public will be able to find out just how much they really know about cycle safety.

A spokesman for Irwin Mitchell said: "Hopefully our quiz will highlight that things aren't always as black and white as the roads we ride and drive on.

"Cyclists and motorists alike have a lot to consider when they're on their travels, and we think our quiz questions will surprise both participants and those reading our future findings."
