PEOPLE with sight problems can attend a free event to help them get to grips with computers.

The event called EyeT4All will be at the Media Centre in Huddersfield on Wednesday from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Topics covered include writing and reading letters and other documents using Microsoft Word, sending and receiving emails, shopping online, checking bank statements and bills online and accessing information such as news, sports results, events guides, TV and radio listings.

Kirklees Visual Impairment Network chairman David Quarmby said: “This is a good opportunity for visually impaired people in Kirklees to get a free taster session of what they might want to use a computer for.

“The Kirklees Visual Impairment Network can then follow this taster session up with training and support Što allow people to do what they want with a computer independently.”

It is being hosted by Kirklees Visual Impairment Network and the British Computer Association of the Blind.

There are only 12 places available.
