ACTRESS Annette Crosbie opened a charity shop in Meltham.

The actress - best known for her role as the long-suffering Margaret in One Foot In The Grave - delighted supporters of the TIA Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue charity.

She opened their new shop in the centre of Meltham.

She is a member of the Retired Greyhound Trust charity and has three greyhounds, Tatti, Honey and Bonny.

Miss Crosbie was welcomed by Deb Rothery, founder of the TIA charity, and Susan Dawson, the shop manager.

Charity officials hope the new shop - housed in a former paint shop in Market Place - will boost funds.

The charity's rescue centre is based in Sowerby Bridge for the time being.

But in mid-October it will be moved to premises at Hebden Bridge.
