STUDENTS at Huddersfield New College will be in the spotlight tomorrow when they stage the musical Sweet Charity.

The show will be performed in the sixth form college's Boiler Room Theatre at 7.30pm and there will be performances on Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30pm.

The musical tells the story of a dance hall hostess called Charity who is looking for love. Shirley McLean starred in the film version and it features the track Big Spender.

Most of the main roles are being played by students on performance or theatre courses.

Performing arts teacher Liz Heywood said: "Some of the BTec students will be getting assessments from this performance, but for others it is just an enrichment activity.

"It's a cracking production and we have got some lively and incredibly talented students."

Tickets cost £5, or £3 for concessions. Call the college on 01484 652341.
