YORKSHIRE Water has a new voice.

The company has been scouring the region for the past few months in search of a star who will become the voice of the company.

Now Kevin Carroll, from Bradford, has been crowned champion, after beating off competition from across the region.

Customers were invited to take part in the competition by recording their version of the famous Yorkshire phrase: “Hear all, see all, say nowt. Eat all, sup all, pay nowt and if tha ever does owt for nowt allus do it for thi sen.”

More than 100 people entered, five finalists were chosen and customers were encouraged to go online to vote for their favourite.

Kevin who is a butcher by trade, will be the first voice Yorkshire Water customers hear when they contact the company.

His voice will also feature alongside other Yorkshire stars such as Nell McAndrew, John Craven and Harry Gration when he records a reservoir podcast walk.

Mr Carroll said: “I entered the competition just as a one-off and never thought that I would be successful. It’s great that the company is making the most of its roots and I hope customers who call in will be pleased to be greeted by a friendly Yorkshire accent.”
