MONEY is available this winter for Huddersfield residents to replace their old inefficient heating boilers.

Energy provider Carillion Energy Services (CES) has announced that Government funding is being offered to certain householders for new, energy-efficient boilers.

The initiative is open to people who own their own home or rent from a private landlord and who receive certain level of benefits, including child tax credit, working tax credit, income support or jobseekers’ allowance.

Upgrading from a G-rated to an A-rated boiler will produce warmer homes and reduced energy bills of up to £300 a year. The funding, which begins this week, comes from the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) initiative, designed to reduce energy consumption in Britain.

Paul Bowens, of CES, said: “For many people, rising fuel rates mean that a warm, comfortable home is a necessity some people simply can not afford.

“The new ECO initiative recognises that people may need help and offers the opportunity to reduce heating bills as well as to protect the environment, so we are urging people who qualify to get in touch and get the help they are entitled to this winter.”

Local residents who may be eligible will receive a letter from CES with details of the offer and a full list of eligibility criteria.

If you have not received a letter and think you may qualify, or would simply like further information, contact CES free on 0800 4087651.
