PEOPLE will have the chance to learn about grants for cheaper heating at two information sessions held by Holmfirth Transition Town (HoTT).

The sessions, which include information about grants available under the Kirklees’ Affordable Warmth programme, take place at Holmfirth Methodist Church, School Street, on January 17 and February 21 (1.30pm-3.30pm).

Grants and loans are available to cover the cost of draught proofing as well as insulation for lofts, cavity walls, flat roofs and under floors and round hot water tanks.

The funding will also enable people to install new central heating and heating controls, replacement boilers, external doors and windows.

All of which should help cut household gas and electricity bills.

Freebies to keep in heat and shut out draughts will also be available at the sessions.
