TWO brothers have put the wheels in motion for a cycle scheme at the creative company they run.

James and Jay Titterington who run creative agency The Mill Group in Elland are supporting the Governments Cyclescheme.

The scheme was set up to encourage people to cycle to work instead of driving promoting healthier lifestyles and reducing carbon emissions.

With Cyclescheme, employees can get a tax-free bike and can borrow cycles and safety equipment.

As well as their staff, The Mill Group on Westbury Street, are also trying to encourage their clients to be more green too.

So far James, 41, has had a great response from his team in getting on board with cycling to work with a third of his staff taking it up.

James, known as Jim, cycles to work from his home in Lightcliffe.

He said: We work with our clients on various green initiatives, from handy tips in saving money and energy at home to short films on new heating systems like biomass.

So it was our turn to take part in a bit of corporate responsibility and what better than a bike ride?

We are not only saving on carbon emissions but were also saving money by using less fuel.

To be fair Im really looking forward to enjoying our summer Ill have a perfect bike ride using the canals on my way in to work and home.

Any size employer from any sector can partner with the governments Cyclescheme.

Marketing director David Fawcett said: The Mill Group really believe in saving energy not only with our business but we encourage our employees in taking an active role in this.

Not only that but cycling is really healthy for the body and mind, with the pressures of this economic slowdown we all have to be on top form and cycling to work has proved beneficial in this sense.
