A CAR sales manager and a former work colleague will be sentenced next month after they admitted perverting the course of justice over a speeding ticket.
Holme Valley man Simon Stolting, 36, appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday alongside former principal dealer at JCT 600 BMW Bradford Gordon Mee, 46.
The pair both admitted doing a series of acts tending or intended to pervert the course of justice between November 5, 2011 and February 28, 2012.
The charge states that Stolting’s name was entered as the driver on a notice of intended prosecution for a speeding offence when it was Mee, of Skipton Road, Ilkley, who was driving at the time.
Stolting, of Maingate, Hepworth, subsequently attended a speed awareness course on February 28 last year ensuring that no further action would be taken against Mee.
Judge Peter Benson said pre-sentence reports were required in the case and he granted both men unconditional bail to return to the crown court on February 22.
He told the defendants that their pleas of guilty at the first opportunity would stand them in good stead.
But he warned that the court would be considering custodial sentences.
