Raiders have made off with a £150,000 jewellery haul of nearly 50 designer watches.
The burglary happened at Beaverbrooks in Huddersfield’s King Street at around 8pm last night.
And in a scene more fitting to a Hollywood blockbuster movie the thieves entered the store via the roof.
Once inside they managed to gain access to the store below and forced their way though at least two locked doors, police have revealed.
They then accessed a locked display cabinet stocked with designer watches.
The breakdown of the stolen items included 19 Gucci, 31 Raymond Weil, and seven Michael Kors watches.
Det Insp Ian Thornes, of Huddersfield CID, said: “We are investigating a burglary at Beaverbrooks in King Street.
“This was an organised raid and suspects entered via the roof.
“They forced entry via two locked internal doors and accessed a rear watch display cabinet.
“They then used a ladder from the store to exit the premises, again via the roof.”
Insp Thornes added: “Enquiries are ongoing.
“We are very keen to trace these watches, which given the time of year we believe will be passed on quickly.”
