TWO young thieves escaped with a haul of jewellery from a house in Linthwaite.

The boys, aged only about 12 and 15, forced a kitchen window to get into the home on Manchester Road early on Monday afternoon.

The jewellery they stole included a ring which had three blue stones and two diamonds, three diamond gold rings, a ring with a dark blue sapphire and diamond, a diamond eternity ring, another gold ring, an amethyst ring and a gold necklace in a rope design.

They caused damage put at £500 as they broke in.

The younger boy was white, about 5ft and slim with dark, straight, collar-length brown hair. He wore dark clothes.

His accomplice was 5ft 11in and well-built with dark brown hair. He wore a grey jacket and dark clothes.
