MORE than 40 jobs are being lost with the closure of a major industrial plant at Heckmondwike.
Rohm and Haas has told its 43 employees operations will stop in July – ending 200 years of industrial activity at the Heckmondwike Road site.
The company, which celebrates its centenary this year, blames the economic downturn. As a manufacturer of emulsions for the paint industry, it says it has been particularly affected by a dramatic decline in the UK paint market.
