JOBS will go at Huddersfield Fine Worsted, not sister firm Globe Worsted, as reported in Friday's Examiner.

The remaining jobs at the Kirkheaton firm are set to go at the end of January.

The firm went into liquidation in August and administrators had been seeking a buyer.

Huddersfield Fine Worsted employed 140 staff but laid-off 47 workers last Thursday at a staff meeting.

Employees, some of whom had been there over 30 years, were handed information about the JobCentre and given forms to claim redundancy payouts from a Government fund.

A source said: "We have been told everyone will be gone by the end of January.

"The staff are very down about it as you can imagine.

"It's a terrible situation to be in. People have gone home for Christmas not knowing where their next pay packet will come from.

"Then they have to go back in January and face losing their jobs."
