A health shop has shut down.

Shutters have been down at the Health Rack chain shop in the Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield since its parent company Health Rack Limited went into administration last month.

Several jobs are believed to have been affected by the closure of the store, which sold discount vitamins and other health supplements.

So far, no one from the company has responded to the Examiner’s request for a comment.

According to David Heathcote, manager of the Packhorse Centre, the store is one of several to have already been closed by the Lancashire-based company, since it filed for administration.

“I believe that two to three staff have been affected,” said Mr Heathcote.

“It was a bit of a shock – no one from the company had told us of their intention beforehand.

“It’s a sham because it’s people’s jobs gone at the end of the day.

“The unit is now empty but the company still has a lease on the unit which can’t be ended while it is in administration.

“This means we can’t offer it for rent, which is a problem we have with another unit in the centre at the moment.”
