ALMOST 50 jobs are thought to be under threat at a Holme Valley-based electrical engineering company.

Meltham firm Lawson Electrical is holding a meeting of its creditors next Monday.

A spokesman from insolvency experts Begbies Traynor, said: “We understand the company has ceased trading and we are currently in the process of advising them on their next step.”

It is understood 48 jobs could be lost.

The company based at Meltham Mills Industrial Estate on Knowle Road was formed by brothers Michael and Ronnie Lawton in 1993.

Creditors wishing to vote at the meeting on October 19 at 10.30am must register with Begbies Traynor no later than 12 noon on Friday October 16.
