STORIES of flying cars and robots were put into a time capsule as part of Spring Grove Junior and Infant School’s Jubilee fun.

Children in each class wrote stories of what life is like now, and what they think it will be like in the future.

Their stories have been hidden in the ground for future generations to uncover.

Headteacher Hawa Bibi Laher and teacher Debbie Kelly said the activity had captured the children’s imaginations.

Bibi said: “The stories in the capsule include what we were doing at our school in 2012 but also what the children think life will be like 30 years from now.

“They were writing that robots will replace teachers and cars will fly.”

The children also contributed to a giant Union flag and talked about what it means to be British.

Pupils took part in a special Jubilee fun day featuring Huddersfield University jazz musicians and sold cakes, jewellery and keyrings made by the children and they planted flowers of red, white and blue.
