A HUDDERSFIELD man has been chosen to judge a top livestock show.
Glenn Dolan, general manager for Keepak UK in Wakefield, will be one of nine livestock judges at Smithfield Show, London, on December 2-5.
One of his tasks will be to select the finest in the sheep carcasses class.
Mr Dolan started out in a butcher's shop at the age of 15.
He became a full-time slaughterman before moving to the Meat and Livestock Commission.
He was a livestock buyer for 25 years.
"This is a great honour and I am very much looking forward to seeing some top-quality lamb from around the country," said Mr Dolan.
"I will be looking for carcasses suitable for quality outlets, whether at home or abroad."
