A MURDER trial jury is this morning being shown the spot where Craig Hepburn was fatally stabbed in Marsden.

They were taken by coach from Leeds Crown Court to see the key locations they have heard about in evidence during the two and a half week on-going trial.

Judge Mrs Justice Lang told the jury yesterday of the visit which will be led by Detective Sgt Jayne Taylor of West Yorkshire Police.

The jury were told they could take maps of the village which have been referred to in the case.

Luke Elliott, 22, and Anthony Driver, 36, are standing trial for murder of Mr Hepburn and attempted murder of his friend Conor Paton.

They deny all charges.

Mr Hepburn, from Paisley near Glasgow had travelled with his family and friend Conor to Marsden on the afternoon of July 6.

They had been drinking in the village and were returning back to Craig's uncle's house when the tragedy unfolded.

Mr Hepburn was stabbed 11 times and died in hospital following the frenzied attack near Old Mount Road where it meets  Manchester Road. His pal Conor was stabbed three times and made a full recovery.

The trial is expected to resume in Leeds this afternoon.
