THE Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins is going back to his old college in Huddersfield - as a guest lecturer.

The flamboyant singer also wants to pump money into a new studio at the Technical College.

He will visit a couple of times a year to speak to students.

His offer was described today as a fantastic opportunity for students.

The spandex-clad glam rocker studied for a national diploma in music technology at the college for three years from 1997.

His offer is revealed just days after The Darkness won three prizes at the Brit awards.

The Darkness won the best group title, best British rock act and best album.

The band narrowly missed out on the coveted Christmas number one slot when their song Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) lost out to Mad World, by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules.

Justin was today reported to be wanting to spend £100,000 on a new studio at the Tech.

The singer - who was born in Suffolk - said in an interview last year that he would love to bring The Darkness to play at Huddersfield's McAlpine Stadium.
