IF Huddersfield rocker Olivia Hyde’s voice is sounding any sweeter of late it’s thanks to her celebrity coach.

Olivia, who fronts band Bad Pollyanna, has secured the services of pop megastar Justin Timberlake’s vocal tutor, Dave Stroud.

The American singing coach doesn’t come cheap, charging his UK clients $300 per hour.

But Olivia, of Golcar, said it had been worth every penny as he had revolutionised her technique within minutes.

Olivia, said Stroud, who is also known for coaching pop stars Justin Bieber, Jordin Sparks, Natasha and Daniel Beddingfield and a host of Hollywood actors, had coached her during a visit to the UK.

She now takes lessons from him via video phone service Skype.

She said: “Dave hears your voice and he can analyse it within seconds.

“It’s just amazing how it’s all based on science and how the larynx works.

“As a singing teacher myself what he said has revolutionised what I teach.

“I’ve been teaching for six years and everything Dave has taught me has made me raise my game.

“Through Dave I’ve learned that although good breathing technique is important, it isn’t nearly as important as larynx position and chord closure.

“There are so many bogus theories out there such as, ‘singing from the diaphragm’, which is physically impossible, and that classical singing is the only safe method.

“Dave has certainly shown me how fast improvements can be when you focus on what’s important.

“I think its really interesting that through these scientific methods Dave employs, really fast results can be gained.

“My voice felt a huge improvement with just one lesson.

“I’m not surprised Justin Timberlake rates him!”
