DISTRICT nurse Karen Batcheler is quids in!

She is the second winner of the Examiner's Crazy Cash competition.

Karen, 35, of Birkby, used her mobile phone to text the correct answer to a question posed in yesterday's Examiner.

And she beat more than 2,000 other people who either rang the competition hotline or sent their answers by text.

Today, she collected £500 from Examiner promotions executive Helen Turner to spend on whatever she likes.

A delighted Karen said: "I was just reading a book when the phone rang.

"I left my mobile phone number as the contact number in case anybody was on the phone at home.

"Then when my mobile rang - I couldn't believe it as hardly anyone rings me on that phone.

"I was a bit shocked but it was great news! I don't know what I'm going to spend it on but it's nice to win so soon after Christmas."

Karen, who works as a district nurse in Fartown, is married to Michael and the couple have two children.

They are regular readers of the Examiner.

You could be the next lucky winner in the Examiner's Crazy Cash giveaway. The competition will run every day this week giving four other lucky readers the chance to pick up a £500 New Year windfall.

What a fantastic excuse to hit the January sales or perhaps pay off some of those Christmas bills. The choice is yours.
