BUTCHERS Brindon Addy and Ryan Martin swapped aprons for racing overalls to compete in a karting challenge.
Mr Addy, owner of Addy's at Hade Edge, Holmfirth, and employee Mr Martin were taking part in the North East Guild of Q Butchers Inter-Shop Kart Racing Challenge.
Eight teams from butchers' shops across the region took part in the contest in Wakefield.
Addy's Butchers is a member of the Guild of Q Butchers, a national body of more than 200 independent meat retailers committed to product quality and customer service.
North-east region members meet regularly to discuss latest developments in the industry and exchange ideas about new products and best practice.
Prizes in the karting competition were presented by Dave Patterson, of event sponsor Bizerba UK, which supplies weighing scales, slicers and food processing equipment for the meat trade.
