STUDENTS were so keen to achieve the highest grades possible for their ICT coursework that they braved the snow and gave up their Saturday to attend Royds Hall High School for a masterclass.

More than 20 Year 10 and 11 students, who are aiming to achieve grade A and A*, went in on Saturday for six hours to work through areas they had missed in normal lessons.

It was an opportunity for the students to receive expert tuition that parents willingly pay private tutors for, when they are wanting this kind of intensive support.

Royds Hall are keen for all of their students to realise their potential and secure the maximum grades. Spokesman Saiqa Liaqat said: “We are particularly proud of the way students have demonstrated their willingness and maturity to further their chances of securing a high grade in ICT.”

The teachers involved were Ms Liaqat, Mr Saeed Asghar and Mrs Sheena Fitzsimmons.
