A MINISTER visited a pioneering project in Huddersfield.

Baroness Kay Andrews, Under Secretary of State for Local Government, visited the office of INtouch Kirklees in Huddersfield.

The system allows people to access council information through their digital TVs.

Clr Donald Firth, Kirklees Cabinet member for corporate services, said: “We are pleased that what we have been pioneering in Kirklees has captured the imagination of Baroness Andrews.

“INtouch allows people to access council services from their front rooms. It is also a two-way service that gives them the opportunity to have their say on-screen and tell us what they think of the service.”

The service is also available on mobile phones.
