WORKMATES at an engineering firm have said goodbye to a long-serving employee.

Keith Winterbottom bowed out after 50 years at Dathan Tool and Gauge, Meltham.

He worked as an engineer in the grinding department after joining the firm in the spring of 1955.

Shopfloor colleagues gave him a golf trolley while the company presented him with holiday vouchers and an engraved tankard.

Mr Winterbottom, who retired just before his 65th birthday, lives in Meltham.

Commercial director Robert Moorhouse, pictured presenting Mr Winterbottom with the tankard, said: "He served under my grandfather, my father and his brothers - and now me."
