A MAN abducted from a Huddersfield road was attacked and a shot fired during a terrifying ordeal.

The man, in his 20s, was on Cawthorne Avenue in Fartown when a white Rover car pulled up alongside him at 12.30am yesterday.

He was bundled into the car and driven around the area before being taken to Riddings Road in Sheepridge.

The Rover was joined there by a light- coloured Volvo.

Both cars then drove to Cherry Nook Road where the victim was assaulted and a shot fired. He was not hit by a bullet.

He was slightly hurt and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where he was treated and allowed home.

His attackers are a gang of between five and eight black, Asian or mixed race men wearing hooded tops.
