BUTCHER Andrew Jones has reinforced his claim to be the premier pie-man around.

The Marsh man gobbled up five awards at the National Federation of Meat and Food Traders’ annual National Supreme Product Championship.

They included the overall Best Pie title for his Cornish pasty.

Other gold medals were for his 1lb pork pie, figit pie, trio pie and ploughman’s pie.

The event, at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, was the latest in a string of successes for the highly decorated pie maker.

He said: “I was absolutely delighted. It’s all down to the dedication and hard work of staff.

“The majority of them have worked here for a long time and it pays off.”

Andrew Jones Pies ’n’ Pasties, founded 20 years ago, has shops in Marsh and Brighouse, as well as a factory at Leeds Road, Huddersfield.

The company now churns out more than 20,000 products a week.
