A KIRKBURTON woman has appeared in court accused of ignoring the terms of her community order.

Melanie Collins, of Turnshaw Road, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

The Huddersfield bench was told that the 28-year-old was given a community order in April after stealing from a house.

This included an activity requirement and an electronically-monitored curfew.

Collins is accused of breaching this order by failing to attend an induction appointment on May 9.

She is also alleged to have not gone to a supervision appointment with the probation service on June 20.

Collins denies the charge, claiming that she never received the appointments.

She will next appear before the court on August 28.
