Mr Lovett played football and enjoyed athletics with Longwood Harriers while Mrs Lovett sang with Huddersfield Methodist Choir and St Paul’s Methodist Church.

She is still an active member of both as well as enjoying holidays and Huddersfield Town matches with her husband.

After they were married, the couple lived in Holme village and Moldgreen before making their home Rectory Drive in Kirkheaton.

They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
