A GRAVEYARD researcher will present the findings of a three-year project.
Richard Horton has put together a wealth of information about Kirkheaton Parish Church’s burial ground.
After visiting the graveyard on an impulse three years ago, Mr Horton ended up with a database of more than 17,000 records detailing burial locations, personal details, memorial inscriptions and photographs of each gravestone.
A DVD of data has been produced, listing information on burials up to nearly 200 years ago.
Church rector Richard Steel said: “What started as a quest to find a family grave has become so much more.
“People who want to find where their relatives are buried can now do a computer search. “Richard has done an incredible mount of work.”
The presentation is at the parish centre on Church Lane at 7.30pm tomorrow.
Entry is free but a collection will be made and copies of the DVD will be on sale, with profits going to the church. For details call 01484 531449.
