BLOOD donors are being called for help after donations were hit by the winter’s bad weather.
A raft of blood donation sessions have been organised across the region next month as the NHS Blood and Transplant service bids to build up its heavily-depleted stocks.
Darren Bowen, spokesman for NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “Blood stocks were affected over December and January and we want to get levels back to normal as quickly as possible.
“We thank all donors for their continuing generosity and appeal to those who have ever thought about becoming a donor – there’s no better time than now.”
If you would like to become a donor and are aged between 17 and 65, generally in good health and weigh more than 7st 12lbs, call 0300 123 23 23 now to register or visit www.blood.co.uk
