DELEGATES from companies across Yorkshire were hunting down hot business leads at a major event in Huddersfield.
The Galpharm Stadium was the venue for the first-ever Kirklees Business Conference, which brought together more than 40 exhibitors and hundreds of visitors yesterday.
The event was organised by Danny Matharu, of Mirfield-based corporate events and recruitment company Hillrich Ltd.
Attractions included sold-out seminars delivered by Brighouse-based marketing expert and star of TV’s Secret Millionaire Carl Hopkins and Holmfirth-based sales specialist Nicky Pattinson.
Internet businessman Ajaz Ahmed also led a seminar to provide pointers to young entrepreneurs.
Delegates to the full-day event also attended Meet the Buyer sessions to find out more about bidding for contracts from Kirklees Council and the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation.
Exhibitors at KBC ’09 included organisations providing business services, including local accountants, solicitors and marketing agencies.
There were also opportunities for networking.
Mr Matharu said: “The event was aimed at the owners, managing directors and directors of small and medium-sized businesses and start-ups in Kirklees and the surrounding area.
“It provided a massive opportunity for businesses to improve their processes, knowledge and – ultimately – their bottom line.”
