Almost 1,000 students at Kirklees College have done well in their exams.

And they have been praised by college principal Peter McCann.

So far 923 have received their results with a further 64 waiting for theirs.

He said: “Our BTEC Level 3 students have worked extremely hard this year and are reaping the rewards. We are very proud that currently 93.5% of these students passed their course and over a third of these achieved the highest grades in all their modules. The remaining 64 students (6.5%) students are still awaiting their results so we expect the final pass rate to be even higher.

“These students now have multiple options. We know that many have already secured places at universities and on higher education or professional courses at Kirklees College and others are starting employment or higher apprenticeships in the industry they have studied. Others are taking their enterprise and work skills into a career that is completely different from what they thought they might like to do when they were 16! We wish all our students the very best of luck.”
