Youth dance group Pure Elegance is being backed by Kirklees College to take part in Huddersfield Carnival.

The group is being provided with T-shirts and use of the gym studio for rehearsals at the college’s Huddersfield Centre.

Set up in 2001, Pure Elegance is a local arts and performance youth group which embraces Caribbean creative art and design.

They have made costumes to compete in and parade to Caribbean music at Huddersfield Carnival on July 10 and 11.

The group has around 40 members aging from five to 20 and is led by Paige Phillips, who took over from her grandmother a couple of years ago.
