STUDENTS from Kirklees College are hoping to make a dramatic impression with their theatre exhibition.
The work by the group of art and design students is being showcased at the Lawrence Batley Theatre this month.
It forms part of the theatre’s Shadowlight exhibition, exploring themes of contemplation and reflection.
The level 2 students from the college’s Highfields Centre created a collection exploring a range of different materials, techniques and processes.
The exhibition includes the work of a number of artists and is the chance for them to have a taste of what it is like to display their work as a professional.
Caroline Thompson, team leader learner success, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their work at the theatre.
“The Lawrence Batley is at the heart of the town and is a very popular attraction, which makes it a brilliant space for the exhibition.
“The students’ work centres on the ideas of reflection and consists of a mixture of self portraits and still life images. I hope theatre goers enjoy their work.”
The exhibition has run throughout January and continues until February 5 from 9.30am to 5pm and on performance evenings.
