COUNCIL house tenants will fund the revamp of a Huddersfield neighbourhood.

Kirklees Council’s cabinet last night backed a £688,000 plan to improve Dalton.

The investment will come from the Housing Revenue Account reserves.

The revamp will include new parking, landscaping and bin storage areas on Harpe Inge.

There will also be improved fencing and landscaping at the DRAM Centre on Ridgeway and extra street lights on Crossfields.

Holays will benefit from improved fencing.

The council’s Labour cabinet unanimously approved the spending yesterday.
