A FINAL chance for people to have their homes insulated is now being offered.
Warm Zone project officials are re-visiting the areas in Dewsbury and Mirfield giving people not already signed up to the scheme one last chance to do so.
The Kirklees Council-backed project has already insulated over 35,000 Kirklees properties, helping thousands of people.
Residents are being encouraged to sign up before the scheme ends in June 2010.
Kirklees Warm Zone offers free cavity wall and loft insulation to every suitable home in Kirklees (subject to survey), a home energy report and a free carbon monoxide detector.
Dewsbury resident Allen Horsman was one of those who had his loft insulated through the scheme. He said: “We were just in the process of getting a quote off a private company then we found out about the Kirklees project”.
Kirklees Council leader Clr Clr Mehboob Khan said the Warm Zone programme was an outstanding success.
“This scheme is making a real difference, making local homes warmer and more comfortable to live in, helping people save money on their fuel bills and reducing carbon emissions”.
