COUNCILLORS will decide next week whether to fund 17 Christmas trees across Huddersfield.

Kirklees Council’s Huddersfield Area Committee has been asked to spend £9,860 on the 22-feet trees, which would be lit up from late November until January 6. The committee will decide on the spending at its meeting at Huddersfield Town Hall from 7pm on Monday.

Trees are planned for Brackenhall, Bradley, Deighton, Lindley, Marsh, Paddock, Sheepridge, Fartown, Oakes, Almondbury, Crosland Moor, Lepton, Moldgreen, Fixby, Netherton, Berry Brow and Springwood.
