KIRKLEES Council has signed up to help run a new high school.
The council last night agreed to become a trustee of the school, which will open on the site of Fartown High in September.
Holmfirth High School won permission three months ago to take on the governance of the new school, serving the North of Huddersfield.
The University of the First Age; Parents of Black Children Association; Kirklees Active Leisure and Cummins Turbo Technologies are also involved in the new school.
Kirklees decided in February to close Fartown High because there are currently just 400 pupils at a site with room for 900.
