All parents must now use the internet to apply for school places in Kirklees.
Council officials claim that online applications this will make the process quicker, simpler and more secure. They are urging families to get their applications in now to avoid missing the deadline.
The timetable for applications for September 2016 places is:
Secondary School - from now until October 31, 2015.
Junior or Middle School - from now until January 15, 2016.
Primary School (for children born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012) - from now until January 15, 2016.
Parents will need an email address and access to the internet to use the system.
According to Kirklees Council, the advantages of the online system include being able to stop and save the application part way through and return to it later.

Once it has been submitted an email acknowledgment is sent instantly.
Those applying on time have a better chance of getting one of their preferred schools - applying late can potentially mean being offered a school place further away.

Nearly 95% of children are starting new schools this month that were in their parents’ top three choices.
However, on National Offer Day in March it was revealed that 900 Kirklees pupils -ore than one in six - missed out on their first choice secondary school.
A council spokesman said: “Kirklees Council is committed to making its processes as simple as possible and moving towards digital technology is part of that.
“Paper-based application forms will no longer be produced, which will also save significantly on costs and paper.
“Help and advice for parents is available through local libraries, schools, Customer Service Centres (Dewsbury and Huddersfield) and Pupil Admissions on 01484 225007.”
