DIFFERENT places of worship across Kirklees will be opening their doors in July for a multi-faith festival.
Christian, Sikh, Hindu and Baha’i communities will be throwing open the doors of their churches and temples and inviting local residents to visit.
The openings, from July 15 to 17, are part of the Treasures Revealed project, which takes place every year. Its aim is to encourage understanding and build relationships between the various faith communities within Kirklees.
Hannah Taylor, of organisers Kirklees Faiths Forum, said: “Kirklees is home to so many fascinating faiths, but we rarely have chance to see inside each other’s places of worship. The festival is an opportunity to share those hidden treasures. “It’s a chance for everyone to explore some beautiful and interesting faith buildings, and to meet and talk with the people who worship there.”
