POLICE are looking for volunteers to help them deal with racist crime.

Kirklees officers want to recruit members of the public to the Race/Faith Hate Scrutiny Panel.

Volunteers scrutinise the police’s reaction to racist and sectarian crime.

Meetings take place on an evening between 5.30pm and 7.30pm once every six weeks.

Hate incident co-ordinator Pc Michelle Linney said: “Volunteers will assist us in ensuring we give a high-quality service to complainants and we deal with cases sensitively, speedily and properly.”
