POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a man they think can help them resolve a sex assault investigation.

Kirklees police have issued the image after a woman was assaulted in the car park of IKEA in Birstall on Wednesday, January 4, at 8.15pm.

The victim was getting into her black Vauxhall Corsa after shopping at the Birstall retail park store when a man appeared between the victim and the car door.

The suspect had hold of the car door and began to comment on the woman’s legs before then taking photographs of her.

He then reached into the car, touching the 52-year-old victim’s legs as she sounded the car horn, which startled him and caused him to run away.

Police are looking for a white man in his 50s, about 5ft 8ins tall and wearing a dark coat and hat.

Enquiries into the assault are ongoing and, from CCTV at IKEA, police have identified a man they would like to speak to.

The man pictured was seen walking into IKEA at 7.35pm.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Adrian Lever at Dewsbury CID on 01924 431012 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
