A FREE booklet featuring local cycling events has been launched in Kirklees.

Bike enthusiasts can pick up copies of the Kirklees Council spring and summer cycling events guide from libraries, information centres, sports centre, bike shops and even GP surgeries across the town.

The booklet gives details about regular cycling events such as guided bike rides from April until October.

It also lists fundraising cycle events suitable for families or more challenging routes for long-distance cyclists.

Cycle training courses for adults, families and women are featured in the pamphlet.

There is also information about summer holiday cycling sessions for children.

Details of two talks being held in Kirklees on cycling trips abroad are also highlighted.

Copies of the guide are available at various locations, including tourist information centres in Huddersfield and Holmfirth.

People can also call Highways Streetcare on 0800 831 8765.

The events are listed on the Kirklees Council website at www.kirklees.gov.uk/summercycling
