FAMILIES have been invited to a public meeting about controversial care changes.

Kirklees Council plans to privatise all routine care provision.

The proposal would mean council carers would work only with the most vulnerable people.

Trade union Unison has called two public meetings next week to oppose the planned change.

Families of vulnerable adults have been invited to the meetings at Cleckheaton Town Hall at 7pm on Monday and the Methodist Mission on Lord Street, Huddersfield, at 7pm on Thursday.

Kirklees Unison assistant branch secretary Mick Ryansaid: “These changes could affect anyone in Kirklees at some point in their lives.”
