YOUR hospice needs you.

And Kirkwood Hospice is giving back too.

They need more people to get involved with the hospice lottery.

Dawn Walker from the hospice said: “The number of patients and families who need our services grows each year.

“This means that we have to constantly explore new ways, as well as building on existing ones to enable us to raise the funds to provide them.

“The Kirkwood Hospice lottery is an excellent way of supporting your local charity and providing much needed funds for patient care.”

Lottery members contributed £270,000 towards hospice funds last year.

But they need £4.2million every year to ensure the hospice is able to continue to care.

Less than 20% of that amount comes from statutory funding, leaving them to find more than £3.5million from voluntary sources each year.

The Dalton-based hospice provides care for people with terminal and life-threatening illnesses and thanks to donations the care is free for patients.

The lottery costs just £1 each week to join with a weekly draw and the first prize is £750.

If you want to join, contact Dawn on 01484 557 913 or email dawnw@kirkwoodhospice.co.uk for an application form or call into one of their 17 charity shops in Kirklees.
