A 21-YEAR-OLD man killed in a stabbing has been identified by police as Mark Cliff.

Mr Cliff, from Batley, was found in Laurel Grove, Wilton, Batley early on Saturday morning.

He was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital but died a short time later.

A post-mortem revealed Mr Cliff had died from a single knife wound.

Police have launched a murder inquiry and a 17-year-old man and 14-year-old youth were both arrested. The 14-year-old was later released on police bail.

Local pensioner Jeffrey Stead, 74, said: "I did not hear anything at the time but I was woken up at 5am and it was the police outside.

"They would only say there had been a stabbing and a man had died.

"I was told not to leave my house so I don't know anything more.

"It is awful that something so tragic has happened on our own street."
