A KNIFEMAN stole cash from a village supermarket.

The man walked into the One Stop Mini Market on Meltham Road, Netherton, at 9pm on Wednesday and demanded cash from the two 18-year-old assistants.

He was given money from the till and fled.

The raider ran down a snicket between the shop and the Rose And Crown pub.

Police Sgt Tim O'Sullivan said: "Did anyone see where he went? It may be he had a car nearby."

The robber is white, aged 20 to 25 and of medium to skinny build. He spoke with a strong Irish accent.

He wore a cream- coloured hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
