THE face of a man who tried to rob a woman at knifepoint has been revealed by police.

The victim was approached by the mugger on a path off Eightlands Road behind Dewsbury railway station.

He grabbed her arm and handbag and tried to take the bag from her.

The victim battled back, but the robber then got out a knife and threatened her.

The woman pushed the attacker away and shouted and screamed for help so loudly he fled empty-handed towards the Eightlands area.

British Transport Police have now appealed for help to catch the robber who struck at 8.20am on Sunday, October 29.

He is white, aged between 20 and 24 and around 5ft 9ins tall.

Det Con David Williams from the British Transport Police said: "This type of incident is, fortunately, very rare.

"The victim is understandably very shaken by the attack.

"This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and it is vital we trace this offender to ensure it does not happen again.
