Kirklees detectives are hunting a man who stole a car at knifepoint.

The victim had his car stolen by a thug holding a knife from the driveway of a Cleckheaton property.

The 42-year-old victim was parking his silver Volkswagen Golf saloon on the driveway of a house in Woodlands Crescent between 6.40pm and 6.50pm on Monday, January 4, when he was approached by a man holding a knife who demanded his car keys.

The man forced the victim to the floor and damaged his glasses and mobile phone before getting in the car with another man and driving off.

Police say the two men were accompanied by two other men who fled the scene in another vehicle.

The man with the knife is described as being between 5ft 11ins to 6ft tall, of slim to medium build and was wearing a red face covering. He is described as speaking with a Yorkshire accent.
